Meet Rebecca: Your Personal
Fundraising Fitness Trainer
REBECCA H. DAVIS, PhD, CFRE has more than twenty-five years of professional experience in academic and non-profit settings in fundraising, event management, volunteer coordination, adult education, research, and writing.
A graduate of the AFP Faculty Training Academy, Rebecca is a Master Trainer who has been a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2007. Like most, her fundraising training has primarily come on-the-job, but she has also received instruction or attended seminars or workshops at or through (among others) the

Her fundraising experience includes working for several organizations, among them the Alzheimer’s Association-SC Chapter, the National Down Syndrome Congress, the Children’s Center for Hope & Healing, Cure JM Foundation, and Pendleton Place in Greenville, SC. She has a long track-record of fundraising success, increasing sponsorship dollars by 188% at the Alzheimer’s Association and by 126% at the Children’s Center for Hope & Healing. In one year at the National Down Syndrome Congress, she increased the Peer-to-Peer fundraising results 1,154% and the Banquet “Ask Event” results by 7,882%. Rebecca is the Principal and co-Founder of Davis Nonprofit Consulting where she works with nonprofits all across the country.
She holds a PhD in political science from Emory University in Atlanta and is the author of Women & Power in Parliamentary Democracies: Cabinet Appointments in Western Europe. 1968-1992 (University of Nebraska Press, 1997) and the editor of the textbook (Stand! Contending Ideas & Opinions in Comparative Politics). The research and data analysis skills she developed while in graduate school have served her well in analysis of program outcomes, donor engagement, strategic planning, and finances for nonprofits.
Rebecca has written more than $3.4 million in successful grant proposals and is a very talented graphic artist who has guided several nonprofit re-brands and has spear-headed the re-design of many newsletters, websites, brochures, and other communication materials. She won a national Apex Award for her design of a nonprofit newsletter in 2013 and has won research, writing, teaching, and leadership awards. She is known for her energy and enthusiasm which she can put to work work encouraging and supporting you and your organization.
